FIND DUTCHESS PRIDE
Poughkeepsie Pride is hosted and produced by Dutchess County Pride Center. For all Marchers, Dutchess Pride will have a Check-In Table directly underneath the marquee of the iconic Bardavon 1869 Opera House (which will also host a free film screening on June 26th as part of Dutchess Pride Month!)
Prior Registration is Recommended for Marchers on foot, and Required for Vehicles
All Marchers, floats, and vehicles must check in before entering the lineup.
Staff will be available here from 10:00am until March kickoff at Noon. Additional staff and volunteers will also be at the Dutchess Pride Tent down at the Festival.
All March participants and spectators must follow all instructions given by the Pride Marshals, DCPC staff and volunteers, Pride Security, and Law Enforcement.
CHECK-IN/LINE UP
The line up for the Pride March begins at 11:00am on Market Street. between Main Street and the Eastbound Arterial (Church Street).
Check In closes promptly at 11:45am
City of Poughkeepsie Police will have the Market Street entrances at the Eastbound Arterial and Cannon Street closed to all vehicle thru traffic starting at 10:00am. Marchers with vehicles and floats will be permitted to enter after this time with proper identification.
The March order is first-come, first served. Please arrive early if you wish to have a spot closer to the front of the March.
The only exception to this is the Sirens Womens+ Motorcycle Club. We are thankful and grateful to this iconic association of LGBTQ+ friendly motorcycle enthusiasts that they agree to lead the March every year. Out of respect and appreciation for their 40+ Years of commitment to the cause, they are always at the start of the March.
VEHICLES/FLOATS/TRUCKS
You must check in with a Pride Marshal upon arrival
Groups with vehicles will line up on the east side of Market Street (Bardavon Side)
A mixed group of marchers on foot and vehicles must line up as one group alongside their vehicle
All vehicles/floats/trucks must register ahead of time, and present proper identification and proof of insurance
INDIVIDUALS & GROUPS ON FOOT
You must check in with a Pride Marshal upon arrival
Groups of marchers will line up on the west side of Market Street (Dutchess County Office Building Side)
Individual marchers are welcome to line up wherever there is space, or with the Dutchess County Pride Center group near the start of the lineup. Please speak with a Marshal at the Check In Table for more information
PARKING
Parking is very limited surrounding the March lineup. Please arrive early and plan accordingly.
Free Street Parking is available on numerous streets near Market Street. Street meter payment is not enforced on weekends, however any parking lots with meters are enforced 24/7.
Several Free Municipal Lots & Parking Structures are available directly off Market Street. According to the City of Poughkeepsie Parking Division website, payment is not enforced at these lots on weekends, unless otherwise noted.

Additional Free Parking is also located downhill near the Festival at Waryas Park, but requires walking up a steep incline to get to lineup.
PUBLIC TRANSIT
Both the Metro-North Railroad and Amtrak service the Poughkeepsie Station. Please check their apps for pricing and train times.

Amtrak services Penn Station to Poughkeepsie to Albany-Rensselaer

SAFETY & SECURITY
Dutchess County Pride Center takes the mental and physical safety of everyone at Poughkeepsie Pride very seriously. Numerous security measures are being taken to ensure a joyful and peaceful event.
A large number of trained private security will be present at the lineup and during the March. They can be identified by their black T-Shirts with the word “SECURITY” on the back. Please address any safety concerns directly to them or to any Poughkeepsie Pride Marshal.
There will also be a number of City of Poughkeepsie Traffic Enforcement & Police Officers closing roads and directing vehicle access for the March. We understand that not everyone will agree with their presence, and respect their viewpoints. Law enforcement officials are present to ensure safety and protect marchers.
INCLINE
The Poughkeepsie Pride March follows Main Street from Market Street down to Waryas Park where the Festival will be in full swing. This route passes several Poughkeepsie landmarks and icons. This section of Main Street has a steep decline down to the Festival.
Individuals with wheelchairs, walkers, other walking aids, and certain medical conditions may find this March path difficult. For these folks, we recommend that they pre-register a vehicle to ride down in, or make other arrangements.
While we would love to have you march with us, please do not risk your physical health and safety to do so.
